Summer is always full of changes, new adventures, and sometimes a new schedule! The transition into new daily routines can often lead to an increase in undesirable behaviors for your child as they settle into their “new normal”. Children with autism may not understand the immediate change with their day to day activities. Utilizing social stories, answering questions, and building motivation can help your child shift to a summer routine without engaging in those lesser preferred behaviors.
Check out our handout on what you can do to make this transition as seamless as possible and enjoy the entirety of your summer!
